FRAUD AUDITOR

I. OVERALL DESCRIPTION:

The Fraud Auditor is primarily responsible for designing and executing procedures to detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activities within the organization. This role goes beyond standard compliance to identify systemic vulnerabilities, lead specialized forensic investigations, and provide strategic recommendations to safeguard corporate assets.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Fraud Investigation & Execution (Core Focus)

  • – Lead and execute planned or ad-hoc fraud audits when red flags are identified.
  • – Design specialized audit programs to test high-risk areas, such as procurement, disbursements, payroll, and e-commerce.
  • – Collect, analyze, and preserve digital evidence and documentation related to fraudulent acts or ethical violations.
  • – Conduct investigative interviews with relevant parties to verify facts and gather intelligence.

2. Data Analytics & Risk Assessment

  • – Utilize data analytics tools to identify irregular patterns, suspicious transactions, or deviations from standard procedures.
  • – Develop and monitor a system of Early Warning Indicators (Red Flags) for financial and operational fraud.
  • – Assist Management in developing the risk-based Annual Internal Audit Plan with a specific focus on fraud risk.

3. Reporting & Strategic Advisory

  • – Report significant governance, compliance, and fraud-related issues to Management in a timely and professional manner.
  • – Provide actionable recommendations to close control gaps identified during investigations and follow up on implementation.
  • – Act as an internal consultant for various departments regarding anti-fraud frameworks and risk mitigation.

4. Training & Development

  • – Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Internal Audit Charter, manual, and standard fraud-investigation templates.
  • – Conduct fraud awareness training for employees and mentor junior audit staff on forensic techniques.

III. REQUIREMENTS:

  • – Professional Certifications (Highly Preferred): CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) is a significant advantage; or CPA, ACCA, CIA.
  • – Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in auditing, with a focus on fraud investigation in large-scale organizations
  • – Mandatory: At least 02 years of experience as an Audit Senior/Assistant Manager at a Big 4 audit firm or a dedicated Forensic/Internal Audit unit.
  • – Industry preference: Experience in Service, Retail, E-commerce, or IT sectors is an advantage.
  • – Deep understanding of the Fraud Triangle, investigative methodologies, and internal control frameworks.
  • – Analytical Excellence: Strong ability to synthesize complex data and think creatively to uncover sophisticated schemes.
  • – Tech Stack: Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and data analytics tools (SQL, Power BI, ACL) is a plus.
  • – Communication: Fluent in English (both written and verbal) and professional Vietnamese.
  • High integrity and professional skepticism, with the ability to remain resilient under pressure during sensitive investigations.
